what if i want to keep one in my 60 gal, how long can he live in there? do aros get along good with endli cherries? of course im going to upgrade asap

I would say no longer then 5-6 months.

are the aros gonna get agressive and eat my endli if i get one?
whats a good diet to feed the small aros, how often should i feed, how many times a day

dunno what is a endli cherry? I know endli birchir...also at 3" should feed bloodworms, small crickets, any small insects u can buy for food from a LFS.

yeah i mean the endli bichir, will aros get aggressive with them?
should i feed them twice a day till they get bigger?

I would worry about your endli killing the baby aro. Anyhow my Aros are 16" and my birchirs are 9-10" and sometimes my endli burrows himself into the gravel whenever he's stressed and I've seen my Aros go down and take a bite at them but not often and not enough to kill them. Unless your endli is baby size and the Aro thinks it's food.

the aros and the endlis are about the same size 2-4 inches. you think my l200 pleco will eat the aro or endli hes about 4 inches.

U have a pleco with your birchir? I've read some horrible stories on plecos sucking birchirs life away and it's not advisable keeping them together. Also the Aro should be fine but your Aro will outgrow the endli for sure. Another thing to becareful on is I heard stories on Aros eating small plecos and end up choking and dieing so watch out for that too.

Anyhow if you do end up getting one just becareful with baby silver aro's especially at 3" cuz they are quite delicate and fragile at that size. Also make sure u have no holes on top of your tank lid what so ever. Don't matter if it's for your HOB filter or anything else even the smallest crack the aro will find it's way out. Must have complete closed off top or be prepared on losing your aro from jumping. From past experience I've lost 3 baby silver aro's from jumping out due to small holes on top of my lid..

Can you post the dimension of the 60gal. tank? (4ft L x 2ft W x 1ft H?)

I think you can keep one 3 inch Silver in your 4 feet long X 2 feet wide tank for about 5-6 months (at least) before he grows too big for your tank.

I got my Silver Aro (at 6") about a month ago and he is currently in a 30 gal. tank while his 180 gal. tank (plus rack/stand) is under construction (should be completed by next weekend). He seems to be more than happy in the 30 gal for now.

I agree with the opinion that putting more than one Silver Aro in this tank will not be a good idea. And you will need a larger tank (about 180 gal. in about 6-7 months or less for ONE Silver Aro)

Just my 2 cents,

Sid

You think your pleco will eat your arowana? LOL. Anyway, back to the point, I recommend you wait til you upgrade before you even think about getting an arowana. How big do you plan on upgrading? BTW, read the stickies...it'll give you some accurate info, like a proper diet...

i agree with the waiting thing. alot of things come up and ruin the option, trust me. i wanted to get a silver aro and my gar a little over a year ago for my 50 gal saying id deffinatly upgrade as soon as they needed it. convinced myself that .. anyways after trying .. OVER a year later ive FINALLY gotten around to upgrading my tank to a 225 gallon. very glad i waited and didnt get the silver aro back then. now im going to buy those two bad boys with my other stock list in a couple of weeks.
