Great video and idea. I would love to have a thousand gallon tank and do that to it. Hundreds or community fish and some big preds.

1. How large does the Silver need to be to consider chasing Neon or Cardinal tetra a waste of effort?

2. How vital is it for the tank to have (real/fake) plants and other "cover"?

all depends on the fish. they might try for a good while but once they realize how fast the schooling fish are than the fish it DOES manage to catch, it wont bother.

cover would be important as your schooling fish are. i think it would give them a little more natural habitat to have SOMEthing to hide behind in the even they get chased.

really cool idea, reminds me of a shark kind of setup.
