This problem started about a week ago. He started out very confident. He was eating and swimming freely. Then he started getting scared when I came around the tank, but he was still eating. At this point I have not seen him eat for two days and he is still very scared of me. What is going on?

I tried giving him feeders but I have not seen him eat one yet. He does not eat krill anymore but he loved them at the beginning. I only had the fish for 2 weeks. Why is his attitude getting worse?

He started acting like this when I added 3 smaller tinfoil barbs about a week ago. Could this have anything to do with it? I dont want to have to take them out and he still acts like this.

He seems to swim against the glass all day long and always darts across to the other side of the tank when I approach. I am very worried and do not know what to do. I dont have time to sit in front of the tank to get him used to me and something tells me that wont work anyways.

Please help. What can I do to get him to eat again?

Thank You
Larry

I've heard that they're usually a bit skittish but it's strange that he started off ok and is now like this.

What are your water parameters like?

parameters are good. I have some drift wood and two large fake plants. arowana is about 6". Here are some pics... he appears healthy

water changes every day? isnt that a little crazy. I have been doing them once every two weeks and i think that is fine until they get a little older. pots are for decoration. I am not exactly done with the set up but eventually I want to get stronger lights and grow some moss on everything. I dont have much money left after this setup so I have to wait on the extra flow/aeration. I have not taken the barbs out yet because I am not sure if it is them that is bothering the arowana. ALl they do is swim around really fast.

Oh I already took the plant out and covered the tank with eggcrate.. that is an older pic. it was just to give you an idea of the decorations

Well it started eating again and starting to gain its confidence once more. He started getting curious when I would feed the other fish first and once they have eaten it spurred up his appetite so the arowana started munching on floating pellets once it saw the tinfoil barbs scarfing food down.
