good yrs started eating again...... happens sometime due to adding other fish.... arowana might've encountered such fish for the first time in life!!!! it was natural to be skeptical!!!

Someone gave me a tinfoil barb, and at feeding time he terrorized the tank. Ate like a pig and finally bumped my Silver Aro. I don't believe Aro's are fond of being bumped, he became skittish. I found another home for the barb immediately.
So based on my experience barbs and Aro's don't mix.

it depends on the aro. ive raised a few with my jardini. he beat them to death. lol.
silvers though are more skittish ive learned. mine got big and began thrashing and jumping. i was scared to go into my own bedroom. but then i figured it was because all of a sudden (to the aro) a person walking into the room certainly would seem like something is chasing it.
a change of location to a higher traffic area is actually what cured his skittishness. i imagine the barbs did help spur his eating.
i once put a guppy inside my FH tank (its a juvie) and it hid in the corner from it until i took it out. other than that, its the most aggressive fish ive ever had. your silver was probably like OMG BRAB!

I think i have the same problem mine gets scared wen i come to the tank and swims back and fourth it will eat krill if i put it in though i havemt seen it eat any fish im sure it can because wen i bought it at the store they told me he had jus finished swallowing a 7 in fire eel and he or my RTC wont touch this puny ass goldfish in my tank they both 9 inch+ and goldfish 1 inch
