2 of my Silver arowana now I only have one the three of them were separated and I don’t know what happened to those 2 because they had no sign of parasites or any disease. My water parameters are fine, the only thing that comes to my mind is overfeeding maybe I did live feeding 3 fish a day for each arowana but I googled and said that juvenile arowanas should eat 4 times a day I need help because this is the first species of fish that die on me I also have Gars, oscars, bichirs and discus and I have never had a problem with those why are the aros dying?

Welcome aboard
Tbh there are plenty of variables .
Silver Arowana are fragile until around 8-9 inches.
They are territorial even at 4 inches so fighting will be involved and one of them will get stressed and weak.
Tankmates must not be over aggressive or harrass the Arowana.
Feeding live is a risk if feeders are not quarantined and treated.
This is just a few things I can remember at the moment.

The feeders are quarantined 2 weeks before feeding them to any of my fish and each one of my aros were alone in a tank with no tankmates because I know they are fragiles until they have 8-10 inches

Ok well how about some more info then?
Water parameters temp, ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate gh, kh. How long were the tanks set up? All 3? Filtration? How long did you have them? City water (treated with chlorine or chloramines) or well water? W/C schedule? Where did they come from lfs, online? Any other info/pics of them before and or after?
A vague statment as to whats going on is going to get you the same in a reply.
Help someone help you.

Temp 78F

ph 6.5

ammonia 0

nitrite 0

nitrate 0

Kh is

tanks were 100G each and they were set up 1 week before my aros arrived

filtration: I was using fluval Canisters for each one

the water is from a well

I did one water change a week 25%

I bought them from a lfs and yesterday I went to the store and one of the employees told me 4 of the 10 arowanas they had died on them so lets do the math they brought 10, 4 died on them 3 died on me that leaves 3 that were sold

Nitrate is 0? Is your tank cycled?
It is that way with young fish especially arowana. My lfs wont even bring in the silvers for that reason to many die on transit or shortly after arrival, and the fact they get huge. They will special order only.

Yes my tank is cycled I also read that young arowanas are very fragile but i’m sad anyways because this is the first species of fish that dies on me so easily and I can’t find a reason

Just a weak batch maybe? Don’t see how it’s your fault. Aro’s are pretty easy to care for IMO. Try the flake method I told you and get a strong one.

I was almost 100% sure it wasn’t my fault but I needed to hear it from someone else and btw thats the method I use to buy any predator fish I always want to buy the alpha ones
