HEllo,
I have a 11 inch silver arowana, i am pretty new to keeping larger sized fish, Im currently keeping it in a 150g, standard tank, i have 4 30-60 rated filters and two power filters, it is currently housed with 2 five inch oscars and 2 three inch jaguar cichlids, my question is how long should i have as a time frame to go to a bigger tank? My silve arowana is very important i want to do everything right, i would love exact answers thank you

mitch

A 240g would be a good upgrade, maybe 300g. They are big, messy aggressive fish along with those oscars, i would get a sump and a canister filter. Like a 40g sump, the canister might not be required. Good luck

What are the dimensions of your "standard" 150g tank. Likely around 18-20" you would be wanting to move, so 5-6 months.

Just volume is compeltely useless...the most important factor are the dimensions. You could have a stock 300 gallon tank at 24" wide which wont work for life. You're going to need at least 30" width of clearance to keep an aro for life.

How is it that silver aros are messy?

Often times it is best to just give advise on that which you are experienced

they grow fast my 8 month old is 22" and i have it in a 72*24*24 and it need to upgrade soon and it is only 8 months...

My dimensions are 60inches long 18inches wide 24 inches tall, i was told it was a 164 gallon but i round to 150 when i mention it, currently my silver is 11 inches long im talking to the local fish shop who make custom tanks i would love measurements for a tank that would last its life time, including two oscars two jaguars and room for me to keep an open mind for adding new guys, thank you so much

Id's say minimum 84-90"L x 30-36"W x 24H. Adjust to your budget. If you dont mind, you could always get a round rubbermaid tub, 300 gallons, 6 feet diameter. It's alot cheaper, and since its round, it's perfectly fine to house a fully grown silver.

i am going to be building a 10'x6'x2.5' but that is for big cats with my aros...if you just want aros min. size do like a 8-10'x3'x2-3' and you will be set...
