Unless you are prepared to eventually own a 400-500 gallon tank or pond you will never give these fish what they deserve. They both can grow at least 4ft long.
400-500?! That's just ridiculous, there are many members on here that have 1 even 2 arows in tanks less than that. Don't get me wrong, they do need large tanks, just not to that extreme..........

A 300 with good dimensions would be fine for a silver, a red tail cat will need a tank well over 500 gallons

a huge tank
well thats helpful

to the op. you dont need a 500+ gal. a good 8ft x 2.5ft wide tank would be just fine... probably around 360 gallons.

^^This would be fine for the aro but the OP wants a red tail cat aswell.

I just got a baby silver arowana and i was wondering if there is anything particular i should know about this fish?

I am also getting a Red Tailed catfish anything i should about this fish?

I have read alot on these fish but i was wondering if i should know anything about these fish that would be helpful for a beginner on freshwater.

A RTC will need much more of a tank then what the aro will.
