Yeah it's definitely a grey area in some states not an allowable import but not noxious, same goes for a fair few other readily available species. I guess it's a yes, no, um, maybe? :)

I've heard of quite a few people breeding them but never actually seen any proof, I was hoping to give it a try but haven't been able to get hold of any broodstock or even juvi's.

I always keep a look out on Gumtree for Aro's, as far as I know they're illegal to import into Australia but it's a grey area around keeping laws. And it's probably pretty unlikely that someone is going to dob you in, police are going to get a warrant and come take your fish. I know i'd put up a fight! But most i've seen on Gumtree are a lot of people trying to sell Jars as Arowana and one RTG in Sydney for $3500 that i'm very sceptical about. :nilly:

no grey area on keeping silvers, there bred locally so not imported, completely legal to keep, just cant import
 
that aro is real on gumtree i went a saw it cause i have never seen an asian aro in my life it looks stunning
 
How big do Jardinis get in the aquarium? I have a silver aro that is 36in.....and wants to make sure a Jardini can survive in the tank with the Silver Aro......300g tank.
