Hi im new to MFK, umm...I just bought a 4ft tank (1200mm x 600mm x 700mm). I was just wondering if a silver arowana be alright for this sized tank?:asianarow And how do you change the word egg under by username to something else?

That would be ok for a growout, but would not be sufficient for a sub-adult or adult silver arowana.

a silver aro will out grow that size tank rather quickly with the average adult size from 30-48". personally the smallest tank i would house an adult aro in would be atleast 36"x 8-10 ft but there is time to upgrade of course. they will reach 24" rather fast though so be prepared to upgrade quickly.

as you get more posts, you get upgraded to new things. 5 posts is ghost shrimp, I think.

if ur aro is small for a while it will work but Silver aro's grow fast and that will be definitely be small in due time.

It would work untill it gets to about a foot or so. Even though it has the depth, ther isnt a lot of swimming room for it. Unless you can provide for it long term, do not get one.

Length is far more importiant than width...or depth. Aros are VERY flexable...They grow fast...yes...but you should have slightly over a year. A 6' long tank...even if it's only 18" in width is a better choice. Eventually you'll want an 8' x 2'(or 3') x 2' tank.
