Speaking from experience once the SD starts spawning I will guarantee you there will be a whole mess of eggs everywhere.... I had a small shoal that was producing eggs every few days, gotten so bad I had to get rid of them due to the fact I’m sick of seeing eggs everywhere.

Silver dollars will often times eat plants but I used "guppy grass", duck weed, and water lettuce. All plants that grow and propagate fast. And when i was ready to be gone with the duckweed i actually used a wet/dry shop vac right above the water surface to remove it all quickly. I used a 20 tall over the winter to cultivate the guppy grass into a huge mop. Speaking of mops you can also make your own "Breeding Mops" if you don't want to do live plants just look around the internet and you will find a tutorial or two.
