Yey bay bay
I just recieved 8 silver dollar from craigslist for free. I never had this kind of fish but i had a red belly pacu before. My question are,
1. What is they best pellets to feed them?
2. Can they tolerate a little salt in the water?
3. Can i add a tiger silver dollar with the group?
4. How hardy are this fish?
5. How can i train them to eat lettuce?

They are in my 180g tank, tank mates are all bichirs, so they have all the top and middle to them selfs. I have two that are 4" and six that are 1" in my grow out tank. Is it ok if i add more of them? Any info can help. Thank you

They enjoy NLS sinking or floating, also flake foods even some of the scraps of tilapia lol. You'll be fine adding the other SD's the more the merrier. They will consume lettuce too if you attach it to a clip with suction cup.:)

Well they're vegetarians, butheyll eat anything you feed them, a very greedy fish, they'll eat off the top and bottom ime, I feed algae wafers cichlid pellets and carnivore pellets for other fish, and they ate it all.

2. Can they tolerate a little salt in the water?
I'd say so, but don't think any of your fish need it. Unless you talking aquarium salt for healing, then yes if you need it.

3. Can i add a tiger silver dollar with the group?
Yes ime they stay together no matter what species.

4. How hardy are this fish?
Pretty hardy ime. Someone posted a picture of one with a huge chunk bitten out and it healed.

5. How can i train them to eat lettuce?
Same way you train any other fish, starve. But they shouldn't be hard to train ime

Watch ur silvers during feeding time. They will gorge on any food in the tank. That means ur polys may go hungry. No worries...either throw in excess of food or feed at night.

Moe got the other questions.

1. Anything
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. VERY
5. No need to train. Just weigh a leaf down and leave it there. It will be gone the next day.

You can add as much as your tank can handle.
