There are two different forms of Myleus schomburgkii, the thin bar version which has a red hook (ERH) and a thick bar version with a blue hook (EBH). The EBH's get much larger than the ERH's, 13" compared to around 8".

That just means that your blue hook isn't a Myleus schomburgkii. I have some juveniles that were sold to me as Myleus rubripinnis that have more of a blue color hook than normal.
