Silver Dollar Turning Light/ White Silver

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Martha, my oldest fish is getting ready to pass. It is so SAD. She's about 20 years old. At least. My wife and I thought back to when we bought her with 2 others. She has got to be at least 20.
That's her in photo above. This silver dollar has so much personality. She has been through thick and thin.

I Am very sorry for your situation. I guess she may not have pases, but it may be her time. Always tough. Some months ago I lost one of my three 26year old Metynnis maculatus. Still recovering. I still have 2 of his siblings, male and female. Hang in there, you have her good care.

When a fish has been with you so long it is very hard. She is very weak but ate a bit today. Just trying to keep her comfortable.

Keeping a fish in good condition for twenty years is a major accomplishment and should be celebrated. Congratulations on giving her a good life for so long, and sorry about her condition. I hope your other SDs live just as long or longer.

Thank you. SD's are certainly a sturdy fish. She used to rush over to see me for feeding. Yapping her mouth and such. She would go get the food and make sure you got water splashed on you in the process.
This morning she was laying on the gravel. I put her down with clove oil 😿
