I just got a silver dollar about 5''+ Is it normal for them to have a spotted dorsal fin? This thing is so battle scared too. He's complety missing the pelvic fins..Will these grow back? Can these guys take brakish?:D

Aww...Lfs had him in brakish for a month. So....Which tank should he go in? The SA cichlid tank with a 9'' jd a 6'' trimac..a few plecs and a wallago...Or the tropical/mutant goldfish aquarium.

What is it in at the moment? If it is in brackish, slowly adjust him to freshwater.
Definably not a brackish fish and will not last long in such conditions.

Silver dollars do well with cichlids, even semi-aggressive ones, due to their speed.
But i would really recommend a small school of them!

Are you sure its a silverdollar and not a mono or a scat? If his a SD indeed, then a JD/Trimac tank will be good for him.

exactly what I was thnikijg. if so, he may even be better off in full marine as an adult.

Nope he's definatly a SD. Is he as mauverable because he's missing BOTH his pelvic fins?
