i hear ya on the gas i drive about 95 miles one way to work thats why im pinched on cash

I here ya also on the gas, I drive 70 miles one way, but got lucky 4 months ago and was given company truck and free gas from there tank @ the shop. That was a money saver.

I have a single prochilodus in my office tank (180). Great fish, sharp-looking, but takes up lots of space/bioload. Keeps things spotless, so he keeps his place in the tank. I just can't imagine having a group...mine is easily 10" SL...and a real widebody...and I would want the space for more cichlids. A little aggressive, but fortunately the mouth structure keeps his attacks from causing any damage. He really gets angry at his own reflection in the back of the tank, then tries to take it out on the cichlids. :D Wish I had a decent pic to post, because he really looks so much better than the stock photos out there...

Anyway, here's a pretty terrible shot of my office tank. The flagtail is just right of center. Keep in mind that he is facing the front of the tank, so you don't really get a good feel for the room he takes up:

I had 2 prochilodus in my 100g till one of them floating this afternoon. It was beat up pretty bad, prob a punching bag for c.sveni. It was fine this morning, must have pi$$ed her off.
All of this silver dollar talk made me go grab a shoal of 8 nickel to quarter size guys for a 60 Im starting next week. $2.99 a pop aint bad.

thanx for the pic those boys get biiiig i may be re thinking this i could always add another dozen silver dollars a nice school of twenty sounds sweet or a large school of giant danios 50 or so would look awesome

Stay South American man, it will look more natural and more pleasing to your eye. Its your call though. Personally, in a tank that large, it would help to have a few larger fish swimmin around. Best thing about the prochilodus is they get big enough that practically nothing can eat them...sooo it makes stockin less stressful...;)

Thanks! The pearsei are among my favorites, and are ideal for an office tank (I don't have time to manage aggression at the office, and these are some peaceful, beautiful big fish).
