Could I get a few silver dollars and put in with my bichir? They arent aggressive fish.. more like pacu? Right?

I would love something to fill some space in the tank.. I got rid of the poopy pleco and was wondering what I could spend my store credit on...

Might pick up a peacock eel or something.. not sure yet, any ideas? They have these african leaf fish but I heard those like eating live food...

Oh decisions decisions !!

:)

i have 4 silver dollars in with 3 gold fish 2 highly agressive cichlids a black ghost knife, clown loaches, + more odd fish that some people would never dream about putting together.
i have 0 aggression-fish fights
really you could nearly put anything with anything, silver dollars could be worth a try

Sds are pretty cool just be aware they are incredibly susceptible to ich and if you have live plants they will eat them.

peacock eels are kinda cool ive had one in with my polys for a while but i very rarely see it :\

Shouldn't be a problem but how about some tinfoils?

The only problem with adding silver dollars to your bichir tank would be that the SD's would be too fast and eat all the food before your bichirs could get to it. They're the most active fish I've had by far. You could get around it by dropping food into your tank at night to feed your bichirs, but you wouldn't get to see them eat without night lights.

Well my bichir gets hand fed tilapia every day, twice a day so that wouldnt be a problem. She is by far my favorite fish and I wont let anything bother her or take her food lol sent my pleco back to the fish shop after I got her! Im not worried about anything bothering her or taking her food. And I throw pellets down every night or so after the lights are off to keep the gourami off of them.

I think I am going to get a 4pack of them.. I heard they have a very small bioload too :)

Alright I got 3 tinfoils and one brown knife! :)

I am very happy with my buys :) petsmart also had some very tiny bichirs I would have loved to get one, but they were bite sized for my delhezi lol

Tin foils get big and are very active...Much more so than any of my silver dollars I have now.

The SD's are a much better match to a poly, just make sure to get a larger one to begin with, as they can become food if purchased too small.

Yea I got the tinfoils, the SD were to small and would have been food. These tinfoils are very active and I dont know if I am happy completely with them yet, but maybe they will grow on me :) we will have to see. If not I will take them back or rehome them or something.. or I might just keep them.
They are around 3-4 inches right now. Very spunky fish.
