Yea I got the tinfoils, the SD were to small and would have been food. These tinfoils are very active and I dont know if I am happy completely with them yet, but maybe they will grow on me :) we will have to see. If not I will take them back or rehome them or something.. or I might just keep them.
They are around 3-4 inches right now. Very spunky fish.

They only get bigger and more active, enough to annoy most of their inhabitants... I rehomed mine when they were in the 6-7" range, 4 that went to a 210 with a few others.

The african brown knife looks happy haha mines usually hides all day until night :(

Mine found my bichirs hiding spot and stays in there during the day, but before I turn the lights off I hand feed my bichir and he comes out and nibbles on my hand lol

I think he is a little scared, he is kind of small, like 3inches. I think I am going to rehome the tinfoils so he wont feel as threatened, they are just to energetic for my tank

Yea I think I am going to take them back and get a 4pack of SDs. I like the way the tinfoils look and act, but they are to high energy for the tank right now. All my other fish are layed back and these guys are on crack lol

just saw an ornate which i purchased wrestled a SD, bit the tail, maybe the sd was just off guard.

saw a 3" endli taking on a 5" tinfoil.

The endli was pretty BA! Had his jaws clamp tightly onto the tinfoil. The TF was trying to escape but fail. In the end, the baby endli knew swallowing the TF was mission-impossible and let go. The TF struggled (disorientated) for a good 2 min before turning belly-up

Needless to say, I net that baby endli. Till this day, not even my larger polys like 12" ornate dare to attempt at munching it.

I have 8 red hooks with my ansorgii's for over 6 months now and not one of them have been nipped or eaten. I guess you just have to make sure they are not small enough to fit in the mouth of your bichirs.

A lot depends on the individual bichir. My first sen was an extremely adventurous eater. From an algae chip to an angelfish, if it was too big to swallow he was a very active death roller. The two I have now give a rat's rear, if it isn't a pellet, they aren't interested. Well, unless it's an earthworm. They'll fight each other if they don't finish their worms simultaneously.
