Silver dollars: The dumbest fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have Redhook's that are 17. Not cm, but years. Granted they have faces bashed in after all these years, but they are smart enough to not have the predators kill them.

I don't really care for skittish fish either.I have always liked red hooks though and finally was able to get some in a trade deal.I did not know that they were so jumpy.
I wasn't aware thay yiu were into goldfish borg.I thought you just kept plecos.
I've almost always had goldfish(common). Mostly as singles through the 90's. Somewhere around 2002, I bought 10...6 survived the weeks to follow. They all lived another 7 years. two died over the months. Then I had a rescue fish chase and kill them. I was down to one when I found out it was him. The last one died at age 9.

3 years ago I got another 6. Sadly my albino rainbow shark chases them now, putting stress on them. Two of the weaker ones have died.

My spotted SD's normally slink away and hide behind plants when they see movement outside the tank, the tinfoils move away and them come back to see if there is food to be had, my bala's go insane when anyone approaches the tank, I vote bala's as being way dumber than SD's

That's just the way we talk in Missouri.

We have 13 tiger stripe silver dollars (7 wild caught) in our 265 gallon aquarium and they are far less skittish than I thought they would be, especially since they've only been in the tank for a little over a week.
