Has anyone breed them yet?

Yes I breed Silver Dollars. Pretty straightforward, egg scatterers. Would be lots of info online I imagine..? What did you want to know?

Curiosity mostly

Raise a bunch together and watch them pair off. They need low light, dark subtrate, lots of plants, (fake or real) and soft water. They scatter the eggs. After the spawn remove the parents. They usualy wont eat the babies but its still a good idea. The eggs will hatch in 3-4 days. I have not done it yet, but I've been researching it. Mine are still too young.

Chances are they'll eat the live plants and have a gol at the fake. If you had to use live plants, use enco plants like Elodea/Anacharis, Hornwort.

I spawn over eggcrate but you could also use marbles. They dont pair off so get more males than females if possible. Dont really need plants but you could use an artifical spawn mop if you wanted. Make sure you use acrylic yarn not wool (which has lanolin oil and will fungus your eggs). They prefer dark colours like green, blue or even red.
