Thats wat it was called in the store. I just got one of these little guys. I know it's not a true gar. Has anyone ever had one of these? I just wanna hear some first hand experiences with these guys.

Ctenolucius hujeta. I had one about 4-5". Great fish. Most only eat live foods, but I was lucky and got mine to eat freeze dried krill. They are from South America (columbia from what I've read), and can jump (mine never did). Let's see, they can get to be around a foot long, but mine grew maybe an inch in 8-9 months.

One larger piece of krill once a day. He would munch on it to soften it up, then swallow it, pretty interesting. Also, some of my other fish (Uaru and a severum) would scare him to make him drop his food so they could eat it, so I had to start feeding him on one side and them on the other at the same time.

They do school,i bought both the fish shop had, they are always together, the 6"(bigger of the two) ate a 5" ghost knife, when I was out of feeders for 2 days.

I bought one as a barracuda as well. They are really called pike charcins and they are facinating and has almost glitter as colour. Very interesting fish
