I wonder if his colour would ever change if substrate or lighting was altered?

Anders has answered that one for me...
Marbles as well as many brown rays do change colour to suit their environment but he would always look different to the others.

Yes definitely familiar to you Kia. He is nicer than I thought from the first pic Giles sent me,didn't wow me with his marbling at the time but in the flesh his unique base colour more than makes up for it......always nice to have something different.

He hasn't decided yet, he's fancying two of them at the moment, hasn't figured out where to put his clasper yet..lol !
Rays must be short sighted, he only has to look across the fish house and he will see how its done, the other marbles are waiting for pups in that one..ha ha!

as you know ive taken some time seeing this through, especially knowing how long ago i started. my rays are not for sale at the moment but you will be the first to know if things change, since you have shown such kindness and made me feel so welcome when I visit wharf aquatics.

you have lovley rays and i really am very jelous that you have the opertunity to find them. i would love to work for an aquatic establishment such as yours but there doesnt seem to be many up here in leeds. your very lucky and you have lovely rays. but your not having mine ..... yet lol
