Just watching him swim around my tank, seems like it's super fragile compared to my bigger ones, like the current could break him. I'm sure my water quality is better than at the store, which makes me wonder if I picked the other one up yesterday, before it died, if I could have saved it. Maybe high ammonia, nitrates, or just too much stress.

nice find bro and dont worry he'll be fine I picked up 10 1-3" NTT's not to long ago and they all ended up doing very well, i feed them bloodwurms regularly and kept the water clean and they grow pretty fast with no deaths

I hope he does well, and hope to get more. Before I put anything with him, I need to get rid of his eye problem he developed last night (10hrs after pickup, 20hrs after 1 at store died). Ive added melafix and a little salt.
Don't know what the other one died from, never got to see it, but wonder if its related, considering my water tested good, new tank, and theres not much he could've damaged the eye on.

If I were u i would have quaratined and treated the little thinbar b4 adding to the tank...They get sick very easily at small sizes and die very quickly...I lost about 6 thinbars to gill disease..I SAVED A FEW TOO USING "Mardel" Coppersafe...Just keep an eye out for rapid breathing...This is the first sign, and if u dont catch it quickly, ur fish will die very quickly..I qt all my little thinbars b4 adding to the big tank now..

Good Luck.

He was too small to add with my others, so he's been in my quarantine tank since I got him, by himself, so spredding to others won't be a prob. This is the first dat ive had a problem with, but might put all new smaller dats in quar tank like you from now on. Not worth the risk of losing the "prize" fish.
