jars have a bad rep of being killers. im trying an experiment raising a jar from a baby and packed the tank with tankmates. hopefully by the time he hits the 8" mark he will learn to live with his tankmates. so far so good, he hasnt killed anyone.

i tried the same thing about a year and a half ago. now there's only one fish in the tank. i'd say at about the ten inch mark mine went on it's killing spree. so if you want to keep an aro in a community go with the silver and if you want a solitary fish get the jardini.

jars are mean. they live to destroy tankmates. every jar i've seen in person was a complete punk to all it tankmates. i've never seen one jus swim gracefully like a silver arowana.

silvers are awesome, jardinis have nice colors. the choice is yours and yours alone.

You might need to leave him alone or possible some big cats or pacu... But they are evil B**stards and thats why we love them hahaha I think some are prettier while some silvers are nicer looking then certain jars... Really comes down to the individual.

Will a juvy keep any good/bad coloration for life or will it fade/change?

Two different fish Jar gets 24" with limited success in large communitys and silvers get 3ft and are more peaceful and great in large communitys.

Which is prettier is up to you.

:iagree:
