See my other thread here on Tinfoil barbs. To me this is a very similar looking fish, but it grows a bit smaller usually. Anyone keep these can comment?

From what I have seen flag tails get bigger then TFBarbs, the barbs around 12"s give or take a little and flag tails around 16" give or take a little...

Flagtails-Characins
Tinfoils-Cyprinids

Both can be possibly the same in size depending on how you maintain their tanks.;)

meaning poorly :D

Flagtails do not need to be kept in groups. A group would be ridiculously expensive besides that.

also mature falgtails need to be kept solo... unless kept in a pond or a huge tank...

Good that they can be kept singularly. Why would a group be so expensive?

just because the cost of a single fish is rather high depending on where you are... I paid $50 for mine...
