You can reduce the skittishness of bala sharks by adding a background to the tank, adding some planting/decor to the tank, having not particularly strong lighting, not mixing them very very active/agressive/territorial fish, and keeping them in groups of at least 5 or more etc.

i have also noticed that you folks say they are a shoaling species mine only shoal when 'herded' by Os or arow other wise they seem to look for food apart
