SILVER SIDES

Thought I saw a couple ppl in other threads say they feed these to dats. Can anyone confirm this? Saw some at the LFS and want to give mine something new.

Yes i feed silver sides to all my fish

Thanks, I wanted to give them a bit of variety. If anyone else thinks the opposite and silver sides are no go for dats, please let me know.

Bogwood - When I asked if silversides are ok for dats You were one of the ppl who responded "Yeah that should be fine." Now your asking what they are?

Shouldn't give out advice if you dont know whats being asked. Especially if you were ASSUMING silversides are the same as lance fish. They might be but you obviously werent sure.

A silverside is Menidia menidia.

I do use silversides for my dats, but not all of them will accept it. I find the packs for silversides VERY messy, so I try to only feed them silvers on days that I'm doing water changes. Other than that, I use krill, market shrimp, bloodworms, beefheart, and hikari pellets.
