for my crickets and meal worms I feed them Tropical Fish flakes and some old stale API shrimp pellets lol. I tried the API shrimp pellets and all my fish hated them. stupid me for trying to go cheap. So now the bugs eat them. once the bugs are full of those flakes and stale pellets I feed them to my fish. I am not sure if this is a good method, but in my mind it seems like a good way to give them nutrients.

This is the internet so I dont care what anyone thinks: these people DO NOT belong in the hobby. Sell your fish and get GI Joe's. Can't kill them.

Hmm i've just tried buddy, i tried 1st SD and no any single problem.
Then added tiger oscar and he is only 2.5 inch, and not even looking at the aro, just swimming away.
Then added the albino oscar and you will not beleave that he is afraid of SDs lol, i don't know why but he is acting like goldfish... He got minus aggression.
Then i just added 7 inch Pacu and he got some little attacks on 1st day frm the aro, and lived together more than month without any prob till now., i don't like to give the pacu away becoz he is my 1st Pet.. He is looking at me every night like a friend.
So what i say? I love them. Just done a little change, and fine. Everything will be normal soon, coz i'll be on buiding pond.
So what?

(Not saying fish fillets are a bad idea). But the brand can definitely make a big difference. There are a bunch of brands Just meant for arowana or foods that a great for arowana and your mix. Hikari is a great choice. They have a taste that almost all fish lover and they soften so its more edible to them. When it got to about 8 inches I started running out of Hikari and Money. So then I bought a cheaper brand called Sera. They sell floating arowana carnivore pellets as well. Mine at them as well. But be wary about the Sera Pellets. They turn the water red as the pellets are red as well. They have carrotine in it so my arowana keeps its red tint in its fins. Every now and then feed them a live cricket. They are top water swimmers. Their mouths are meant for insects really. they can eat smaller fish but i think in the wild mostly insects as their wild staple(plz correct me if im wrong). After Sera ran out i started Azoo. Azoo seems good as well but not as favorable as Hikari or Sera. Im going to go back to Hikari and NLS as soon as i got another job during school. But keep in mind. Crickets are very nutritous if fed correctly. Mealworms are great too! But i digress. So the 3 Brands to look at is Hikari, Sera, and Azoo. NLS is a good brand but their taste isnt that great to the fish. mine ignores it alot.. So yeah.

I lives in Sri Lanka, so cannot find brands like hikari, but i feed the best pellets what i can get, my Black ghost knife loves this pellets... I tried to feed a dried food called 'worm cubes' every fish i have loves it, but aro doesn't.
