Silversides

Just got some frozen silversides from Petsmart because I am always trying to make my fishes diets more diverse. I don't hear people talking about silversides as a food too often, and I was just wondering your thoughts on the nutritional value of these.

All of our fish HATE silversides with a passion. They all devour smelts but leave the silversides to rot. (figure of speach...I don't really alloy that to happem of course....)

I put just 2 in the tank to test it out. They were gone when I went back to check, and one of the Senegals had a bulge in his stomach.

My silver aro loves em. So did my peacock bass before I sold them.

Are these atlantic silversides? (Menidia menidia) If so, I can just net these back home...

i use whitebait/silversides and get 1kg bags of the stuff and all my fish love them.
i have used these as fish food for almost 8 years.

And greatly increase the introduction of a disease or parasite to your fish.

I have used them before, most of my fish dislike them. The ones who do like them though LOVE them.

Really? Many members here net food for their carnivores and I thought silversides and mummichogs would be safer since they're marine species and would be fed to a freshwater tank.
