Simple Auto Top Off (ATO), inexpensive too!

That looks like it would work great. Right now I'm basically just using two power strips that I can turn on or off...one for lights and one for tank maintenance stuff like pumps and whatnot.

Let me ask you another question.....I have a wall plug in converter that goes from 120vAC to 6vDC. Can I use this instead of the 12v converter and just get a 6v relay instead?

I know the converters I use are 12 volts and 9 volts.
You could always buy a 12v relay one and see if it flips it..
(I don't know if radio shake has a 6volt..)

You got it thats the right way (you don't have to put the switch in but it's nice to have incase you need it!)

You should be interupting the WHITE WIRE FOM THE OUTLET or the common wire the hot wire (black) should NOT go through the relay!
