I got tired of the food getting sucked into the overflow so I whipped up this easy feeder ring.

I used some 1/2" CPVC and 4 elbows. Cut the pipe to lenght and just put it all together dry. I didn't glue anything.

Materials cost around $5.00 from Home Depot.

cool im gonna make one
Glade I could help. I'm new to the fish keeping hobby (kept some small aquariums with some odd and end fish in the past) but have been keeping reptiles for ever. This site (MFK.com) is the reason I've started keeping fish. I just really like the idea of keeping large fish.

Thanks I am utterly fustrated with food getting sucked into my overflows. I have resorted to shutting off filters
I agree. I hated it and would turn off the pumps until I came up with this idea. The 1/2" CPVC is only about as big as a sharpie marker.

This is a nice idea, kind of a reverse feeding ring that keeps floaties out of the overflow

I thought about doing somehting like that and might on my larger ply tanks.

This was just easier at the moment and took all of about 2 minutes to make.
