Simple Question

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its a 4 feet tank. :) and it's pretty empty now with only one sen and a Front.
and sand and rocks.

My Front took only one or two of the mini pellets and thereafter he just spitted the rest out, which the sen ate greedily.

thanks for replying mike. what are you feeding your Front now to improve its colour?

A good high protien sinking cichlid pellet would be good. I dont like to order online so i only have one option at my local lfs for sinking pellets, its called african cichlid attack , comes in a big red can i shake it in and they go nuts for it. I also like to feed them freeze dried krill (I put it in some warm water for a couple minutes then drop them into the tank (usually results in a feeding frenzy lol). Might want to stay away from floating pellets as much as you can. Mine also will eat flake food (I have some large gourami that have to eat flakes, so fronts get some of that too) but it can make your tank dirty if your not careful with flakes. As a treat i also will hand feed them tubiflex worms (my fronts are still small enough i can keep all my fingers lol). Thats what i feed.

ive done it before. works just fine.
the fronts stay out of the way of GT's altho the GT was alot bigger.

Done it for how long? How large was the tank? How big were the fish? Need more information to explain your experience.

so a 120. I had a few in a 120 for a bit. I would recommend some peacocks or haps, but after a while they can bully the fronts until the fronts get considerable size on them... Is that a route you are interested in. I would also look into a 6ft tank one day.

hmm.. ok. but it works the other way around for my fishes hahaha

the GT terrorizes the Front. I guess I'll have to add more Cichlids into the tank!

anyway my sen is milky yellow in colour, its around 7inches, which I think is nearly full grown. I think its funny because the stereotype colour of sen's at this length should be dirty grey, but mine's a yellow milky!
