Are the stands able to be used for "stuff"? They don't appear to have doors or other access...

I think I would leave the kitchen area open for a view from the kitchen.. just a thought

.

Look's nice keep us updated when it's up and running.

yes you can store stuff underneath the tanks and access the sump. since the front panels do not contribute to the structural integrity of the tank, i designed them so that you can slide the whole panel ( instead of just a door) open to gain access underneath. right now im just looking for drawer sliders long enough to meet my needs..lol.
i thought about leaving the the wall open from the kitchen for tank viewing, but that portion will be mainly the filter area of the 7 ft tank.. once i do put sump in for that tank i will remove the internal filter and open up the kitchen again.

If the glass is the same on the two tanks you should think about connecting them. I did it for two 55s and it's pretty cool. theres a picture of mine in a previous post titled "Connecting My Two 55s." Yours looks classier than mine though. Even if you dont connect them they look pretty BA, love to see them filled up.

thanks1! ive look at your thread connecting the 2 55g's. good job on that. i would like to connect my two, but considering one is glass and the other is acrylic, i think its out of the question. im actually concerned that when both tanks are filled there will be an obvious difference in the two. lol.

When do you think you will have the other tank?

damn bro, that looks awsome!!! so a filter is going in the "L" section, between the two tanks? won't it be hard to acess there? maybe you could make it like a giant canister filter (55gal drum)!!! or do you mean a sump filter inside the corner of the tank? either way, excellent project. what room is that anyways?
