Oh come on, I post crappy pics from my iphone all the time! My wife has a sony dsc-h7 (kind of a cross between a P&S and a DSLR) that I'm SLOWLY learning how to use. But most of the pics I post are just from my phone.

No excuses...just post some pics :)

Yup, again, it is SO SO rare that I come across another real live fishkeeper! When i do, the odd times, i feel like i could talk with them for hours! :)

I hear ya...I work in residential HVAC, so I visit 3-5 houses per day. I actually find it amazing how very few homes I see an aquarium in. When I do see one, no matter the size, I am drawn to it and will talk to the customer about it. That is the extent of my coming across a real live fishkeeper, I too had a couple buddies of mine and also my brother-in-law had some pretty nice setups and after marriage and kids, got rid of their tanks. I'm married and have a son and have 3 tanks running...we are few and far between.

It was actually my wife that pushed me over the edge when I wanted to keep fish.

I mean, I've always thought aquariums were pretty sweet, but I was never really in a position to keep them. We got married and moved into our apartment & she started wanting a 20gallon setup but I thought we couldn't do it...she eventually sold me by saying we could go to petsmart & spend 30 bucks or so and get a starter tank... went to petsmart and spent 100 bucks on the 20gal starter setup :p Been hooked ever since. Now she's gotten fed up with how obsessive I've gotten over the tanks & she just leaves them alone completely  I think she'll get interested again once we get salt.

I'm hoping I don't have to downsize TOO much once we get kids. I can't imagine not having enough time to maintain a couple simple tanks, kids or no kids...that just doesn't make sense to me. Ah well.

^ I believe it...but it takes all of 5 minutes in the morning & about an hour tops on a saturday/sunday/any free day to take care of my tanks. I can see giving up a fishroom or downsizing a 800g monster or something like that...something more time intensive than a couple relatively small FW tanks that are running well.

I dunno...time will tell I suppose, I think I got a few more good years of run in before the kids come ;)

I love sharing fish keeping with my girls. One of them gets so excited when we go to a FS and she correctly identifies a fish. I hope she keeps that excitement as she gets older. She's 12 now, so I'm still holding hope.

Ya, my two Aunts keep fish but they are not as into it as me and they hardly clean it, lol. So this is my only fish connection. They like fish but it's not their passion like it is mine.

Gave up their tanks because they got married? Your'e friends all have flat heads. LOL What else did they give up since they got married and had kids. Seriously though you don't have to give up a passion because you get married maybe down size a bit. Even if your married and with kids you still need hobbies.
