At my house...
well i got a 29 gallon to serve as a show tank for our living room (no way i'm moving my 2 300's out of my room!) and i'm having trouble over what i should put in it.... i'm thinking of putting one personable and colorful cichlid in it... a cichlid that doesnt grow too big, or too small....just right for a 29..... any ideas? thanks!

can't go wrong with a firemouth when it comes to color. another option would be a salvini, which are also colorful as well

Too small? What's the definitive measurement of too small? I was going to suggest kribensis, rams, apistogrammas and keyholes.;)

I say go native instead and get a pumpkinseed or a green. Ten times more entertaining than any cichlid in my opinions. Even a Crappy if you can catch one.

thanks for the ideas guys! im likin the salvini idea.....can i put them with some kribs or rams? thanks!!!!

A salvini in a 29 is solo. He's going to abuse anything you put in there with him, especially other salvini's...probably to death. They don't call them mini-guapotes for nothing.

That being said they are super colorful and would make a nice showpiece. Firemouth or one of the other Thorichcythis would be my second choice.

well, i've made up my mind.... salvini it is!!!! thnx for the input guys!!!!
