10 gallon is pretty small, probably just some neon tetras

Honestly with neon activity I’d say 20 is better. I’d give a 10 to inactive/territorial fish.

If you did marine some smaller mantis shrimps or a shrimp goby pair would be very fun.

Yeah, not a peacock, but if you go looking there are plenty. Harder to acquire though.
Pistols make a good replacement but aren’t as active.

Badis
Dwarf frogs
Dwarf crayfish

There’s some pretty cool brackish and marine options too if your curious.

Nano reefs are sweet and pretty easy
