I have an empty 37g tank that I'm looking for a single fish to keep in it. I want something colorful and interactive I know with only being a 37 my options are limited but there's gotta be something out there.

I'm trying to decide the same thing for my 36g bowfront. I'm going with cichlids so I've narrowed it down to a pair of one these choices. These are all Central American cichlids, colorful and interactive:

cryptoheros sajica
cryptoheros nanoluteus
cryptoheros sp. honduran red point
herotilapia multispinosa

I really like the cryptoheros sajica I think a pare of them would be awesome thanks. oh do you think adding a Raphael cat to that would be overkill?

Not an expert on cats, so maybe someone else could give a better answer...

But, I will have a 5" rubber lip pleco in with mine. Personally, I wouldn't put a raphael in my 36 due to size but my dimensions may be a little different than yours since it's bowfront.

Could do a pair of convict/ HRP, possibly even fire mouths. Also a pair or two of dwarf cichlids, bolivian rams or columbian rams are awesome. Could do a fully planted tank with 4-5 rams, some sterbai cory at the bottom, and perhaps some dither fish, a schooling tetra or something. Would look nice.

The only thing I could think is mine is probably just taller I am really great full for the input my lfs's don't have a very good selection.

Are the sterba cory's good at running and hiding

No not really, Corys usually don't hide from anything unless it physically moves them or touches them, they are pretty oblivious

agreed my cory cats are not scared of anything that is in the tank including a very agggressive jack dempsey that attacks them every now and then but that doesnt phase them as they just continue to swim around lol. they are little invincible fish basically and they will not flee unlessed pushed or moved
