Single Fish for a 75?

If it were me, I would get a severum. A milder disposition, but no skimping on personality.

I disagree with Japes that you shouldn't have anything that gets bigger than 9 inches in a 75.

Jag, RD/Midas, FH, or any other cichlid of the same size category would do.

Fair enough opinion. I just don't personally see how a fish that can reach up to and sometimes over 14" could possibly considered as a candidate for a tank that is only 4' long and 18" wide.

Nothing wrong with being conservative, but there is with overextending.

I like motas because they still look like a Jag in a smaller package

my jag is over 15 inches long and think i would cry if i saw a fish his size in a 75 gallon tank.

I am not saying your opinion is a bad one. It just differs from mine.

Maybe a Jag would be pushing it. But I think a RD or Flowerhorn that would likely stay under 14" would be fine for life.
