i want a gulper cat really really bad....i have that itch..some of u may know what i mean :naughty:

i just want 1 and i need to keep it in a tank as small as possible. but i want it to be happy still.

the tank would have no decor or other fish.

so my questions for all of you is what is the smallest tank i could keep a single a gulper cat in?

i was thinking a 52 gallon 36'' X 18'' X 18.5''H or 53 gallons 30'' X 24'' X 17''H

also would an AC110 be enough filtration?

thanks

lol u would be fine in a 29 if u really wanted and an ac110 is fine

wow that's it?! sweet.. i donno if i will go that small though. it does get up to 10-12''

Ive got one around 9" he was in a custom made 32x18x16 but when we got our new 5x2 we freed up a much nicer and better tank but it was smaller at 32x18x15 so we moved him into that and have sold his old tank, he could do with more room but he doesnt really use what he has, ive got 2 Eheim 2210 aquaball internal filters, and as for decor just a few fake plants, gravel substrate and a ceramic pipe for him to chill in :)

I had one in a 20g Long with a powerhead. The AC110 would be fine.

thanks guys! my idea for the tank was going to be this:

2 very large and long bushy fake plants on both sides of the tank...possible hiding place. instead of substrate i thought it would be nice to use slate tiles instead!

anyways back to the big decision!! I need to decide what the better choice is. heres what i got to choose from, someone please tell me what the best option is?

52 gallon 36'' X 18'' X 18.5''H or
53 gallon 30'' X 24'' X 17''H

i only have 1 more day to deiced before i go for my appointment to the tank wholesaler

thanks again everyone.

Since a Gulper will more likely max out at 12" I think it would be better to give it a bit more length than width since the width will accommodate a 12" fish nicely already.
