single gulper cat tank requirement

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think that either tank would work great - I would personally go with the longer one. As for those folks that kept gulpers in 29g and 20g long tanks, wow.

yah i think im gonna go for the 3' er... the big plants on each side will take up space length wise soo, its smarter to go with length..

im still deciding if i should...... or if its even appropriate to have a drift wood center piece in the middle of the tank. it would make the tank look nicer and give refuge to the gulper..

any thoughts, anyone?

I don't see why not. The Driftwood will be a good place for the Gulper to hide as well if it feels like it.

I can't help you out there, sorry. As for the driftwood, why not? I'm sure your little beast won't mind it.

how big should it be.. since the tank is 36'' X 18'' X 18.5'' H

i want the gulper to still have a little space to wobble around in..

anyone know if a 24'' 14 watt coralife t5 colormax willl be sufficient lighting for a tank thats 36'' X 18'' X 18.5'' with a gulper cat. they probably don't like bright light...

i still have a few questions.

1. i need help deciding whats the best lighting for a gulper cat tank that's 36'' X 18'' X 20'' high. keep in mind im pretty sure the inhabitant does like very bright light..i may be wrong... some please correct me if so! ( i was thinking a 24'' 14 watt coralife t5 colormax )

2. what size of drift wood should i look for? again the tank is, 36'' X 18" X 20'', should i give the gulper lots of space or can the wood be very large?

3. still need some advice from tiled tank experienced people. i looked at the tiled tank thread but found it more inspiring then informational lol.. so any help with safe tiles would be very much appreciated

thanks

as far as lighting I don't think it matters
much, do whatever you think will look best and fit your budget
You could look for a piece of driftwood that is 12" by 6" so it fits nicely in the middle of the tank
As for the tiles just go to home depot and pick out 9 12" by 6" tiles, and you will have to have a way to cut off an inch off the end because on the inside it is actually about 18"x35"
