I have a Midas your size minus the hump which is weird since hes a male. I paired him up with 6 or so small red devils about 2 inches. A year later he paired up with a female and had 5-6 fry loads. The female is 7 inches and this week he killed her. She was done breeding I guess. Hes a mean fish when he wants to breed. His tankmate was before a huge 18 inch flowerhorn and they got a long fine. Man that flowerhorn was butt ugly I got him for like 10 bucks I think the owner had him in a 20 gallon long tank since he was downsizing his tanks.
Hit or miss with these fish usually they're fine with small or very large fish. I've owned my Midas for 6 years and now I'm getting rid of him. Hes too aggressive hes hurting anything I put in there even his old tankmates. He chewed up a jack dempsey I had that was about an inch. I guess even though there was tons of space in my 200 gallon tank he found him.
