its not a fish, its a crustacean, but a mantis shrim is usually less than $30, would be fine in a 29 gallon with some live rock (I'd do a 35 mini reef, though).

they are pretty impressive predators.

any Serrasalmus sp

I like serrasalmus Elongatus Black mask... Nice size tank, with plants growing alone the back wall and side walls and a power head to make a nice stream. with dim lights and sand at the bottom... that would be a beast tank

Hey lilfats that sounds like a great idea the serra sp idea is great its probably my top choice but how would i go about maintaining that tank without my hand being bitten lol? Please MORE IDEAS!

A number of ways... you can try a divider trap the fish in one corner while you maintain the tank. MY serrasalmus that i used to have did not strike at me unless i went to close to it... Or just get a longer vacuum and or algae scraper etc... Goto aquascapeonline.com thats where i got mine. :headbang2

get a 300 gallon and keep 3 Elongatus and see how it works for you... Everyone has different luck. but three would look sick in a 300 gallon planted tank driftwood sand nice stream or wave maker... with lowlighting and a 3d background:headbang2
