Slow growth but it is pushing eight inches now.It recently took out my six inch fire eel.

Where'd you get him? What are you feeding him besides fire eels?

Got it from Wes and it eats mostly minnows.It usually hangs out just below the water surface and it will snap up a dead one before it even notices that it is dead.I have also tricked it into eating a few tilapia slices.

Hmm. Have you tried pellets or any other foods? The live food part is the only part that doesn't sound nice. Any tankmates? Also what ph is he in?

I have before and it ignored them completely.No tankmates currently but it did bunk with a few of my cichla who had gotten big enough to move on to other tanks.PH is around 7.2
