Sinking Driftwood

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aye, thats what the HOT HOT HOT water is for...kills any parasites, bacteria, and other bad stuff you don't want in your tank...plus it conditions the wood faster!

I soak mine in the bathtub until it becomes water logged...

A way to speed up the process and cure at the same time is to boil it. If you have the recourses... Another thing that you can do, is after you cure it is to just put it in the tank free floating, and it will eventually sink, you don't have to worry about it comming lose and hitting the top of the tank, then it will sink eventually...

i hate sinking driftwood..just alot of time soaking

If you use a large tud to boil it do not use the old fashioned galvinized ones, they can leach enough zinc into your wood to kill fish.
