Siphon break hole size.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This bugger keeps on siphoning with the 1/8" hole. Maybe I'll try adding another 1/8" next to it.
It's kind of a bummer though cause I got an annoying little water spout shooting up after drilling the first one.

did you end up resolving the issue ? My siphon break doesn't work either but I probably drilled the hole too small. Going to try and fix it this weekend

Wonder how many people actually have had check valves fail

Are you sure that the siphon is not stopping or is it possible that the drain is still just draining down to the bottom of the highest fitting? For instance, I have the Siphon Stopper Return from H2Overflow and it has two holes on top of the return. Even though the siphon is broken immediately after the pump is shut off, it still drains into the sump until the water level is down to the bottom of the highest 90 degree fitting. This is just how far it has to drain before it cannot drain anymore.

Here is a link to the return.

I just re-drilled the hole but moved it to the water level used a 5/32 bit and it works.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all of your help and suggestions.
I came up with a quick, easy, & inexpensive fix. I'm kinda embarrassed that I didn't think of it sooner.
I just purchased two 90° Loc-line fittings that raised the level of the nozzle tips. Now I've got PLENTY of room in my sump for the water to drain. And no siphon-break holes needed.
What a relief. I HATED relying on the darn check valve I've been using on my return line.
