Sitting on the bottom?

I have an Amphilophus Sagittae tank boss in an established 300 gallon community tank that spends a lot of time sitting on the bottom. He also seems to struggle a little bit when he's not on the bottom. He will swim around a bit then almost "crash land" to the sand. The water has always been pristine with two 30% WC weekly.

Has anyone seen behavior like this before?

Sounds like a swim bladder issue. I've had fish with this before, and unfortunately, it has never improved in my experience.

Swimming bladder. I had to use Kanaplex (max doses), epsom salt (1 teaspoon /10g), and Methylene blue ( 1 week) to heal my pbass when that happened. You will have to treat in a QT.

I've got a 30 gallon I can use although that may be kind of small.

Ok, I’ve got him in the 30 and he’s not happy about it.
It’s amazing how well a fish that big can disappear in a 300 gallon tank.
I dosed with Kanaplex and Epsom salts. I don’t have any methylene blue. I’m hoping I can find it locally tomorrow.
Should I keep on the normal feeding schedule or hold off?

I dont feed while in QT. I changed 5-10g per day because methylene blue kills BB

If you change that much daily do you need to re-dose kanaplex and epsom salts each time?

Yes I do, enough for the replaced water, so I make sure the amount changed is easily dosed with Kanaplex. So on 3rd day i do water change and treat as I would on day 1. Same on day 5 for last full dosage period

Day 1 - full dosage Kanaplex
Day 2 - amount of water changed dosing
Day 3 - full dosage
Day 4 - amount of water changed dosing
Day 5 - full dosage
Day 6 - amount of water changed dosing

I struck our trying to find Methylene Blue locally. My go-to LFS just sold his last bottle over the weekend.
I had to order it online but it won't be here until Friday.

I'm assuming since I've only dosed with Kanaplex and Epson salt so far I don't need the daily water changes yet?
