I've never even thought of using the ignore function until i started coming across delgado's posts. You turned a thought and feeling provoking thread into a religious discussion about right/wrong and morals. Thanks

religious?????

so im suppose to agree with the below posts or not say anything at all? I dont think so.

indeed what they did to these iguanas is wrong, but returning the act with taking a human life is justified?

My friend has a six foot iguana. That's his "son". God help those people if my friend ever got a hold of them! Well, hopefully God would just ignore them and let my friend deal with them properly!

Because they're twisted little bastards that probably are sick in the head. They way I deal with people does not involve harm, just discomfort, and some mental tactics. I don't promote violence, but these people I'll make an exception for.

and ummm NO. There must be a universal standard of right and wrong.

morality cannot be relavent to every person or every culture.

that would be nice but your an idiot to think that there must be a universal standard for right and wrong. It's all wishful thinking that you religious whacko's think will happen. people will still "sin" forever. Drinking underage, speeding, murder, etc, etc, etc- will ALWAYS STILL HAPPEN. you can't think that just because most people make the right/wrong choices in there lives that they will always choose the right. All this religious talk makes me think you were hit over the head or hypnotized into this crap. the world does not revolve around religion- christian or other. the bible does not have all the answers, read the friggin thing, it's ful of the **** your saying people shouldn't do. Religion is simply something that people base hopes and faith on for better days and redemption for sins. Some people (YOU) take these matters to far. You can base your faith and beliefs of god on yourself, nobody's stopping you, but please don't put this worthless **** into the forum.

Its a fish forum but this is the lounge, i dont see every thread relating to fish now do I?

contradictory to your own beliefs dont you think?

nope. i dont believe everything the bible feeds. this discussion will go on forever, so lets just end it with "STOP TRYING TO PREACH OTHERS HERE". we dont want it. if we say were gonna kill 5 kids for feeding a goldfish to their hamster then just shhhh and not tell us all the morales and why we shouldn't do it.

whats the standard for right and wrong then? or are you just trying to rationalize the wrongful things people do?

btw, The bold part you got wrong, because your blind and deaf to truth.

now answer my question, up until this post,(EXCLUDING RELIGION) is what ive been saying right or wrong?

Your lord blessed us with our own choices of right and wrong, you can't think that because of this everyone should and will choose right. therefor you are wrong, in your matter of thinking that they shouldn't be killed for killing the lizards, i agree that you are correct, but i'm sure you are against the death penalty "what i've gathered from your posts" in which case i completly would disagree with yourself. These people do not need to be murdered, but a fine and 6 months is not enough punishment for this.

please explain this "Truth" that i'm blind to. because i would believe more people here would believe YOU are the blind one, you need to wake up.

i'm sure you've also never sinned right? and don't give me the bull**** about going to reconsiliation to be redmept from wrongs that you have commited

If you notice though, Del has never claimed that he hasn't sinned (or comtinues to), this is something that is being portrayed on him, that did not come from his mouth. Being a Christian doesn't mean that you never sin anymore. What it means is you recognize that you are a sinner (have been and always will be, not like becoming a Christian is a magic elixer to stop you from sin) and that your sins have a penalty.
While you guys certainly are within your rights to ask him to stop his "preaching", you have to realize that from the other side of the fence, that some of you are doing your own brand of "preaching" by endorsing certain acts (or at least speaking them) that others find offensive. Your anger at Del is because he uses the Bible as his moral reference, and what he's trying to tell you is that you are using yourselves as a moral reference. The difference is not in the act, but in the origin. Really what your saying is "I am telling you it's wrong for you to tell me whats wrong".

Oh, and it is possible for this thread to stay open for a while if the conversation remains civil. That is on each individual person. The mod's are quick to close these threads because there is a high rate of offensive material that normally accompanies these discussions. So, if there are some who just want to "fan the flames" please stay away.

I've been reading this thread with some interest, but I usually don't post on this kind of discussion.

This post really got to me, though. Morality is relevant to culture. To say that your morals are THE morals is an incredibly Eurocentric, narrow-minded view.

That's all!

Sorry about the double post, I hit the submit button accidentally!
