Not bamboo.

Cat, swell or maybe Eppie. They look a bit too narrow for Eppie, but I wouldn't rule it out if it were a young female.

And they are fertile. I see yolk. Unfertile eggs are usually just cases with nothing inside. I've have a bunch from my female Grey and my female Eppie.

I am surprised that no one asked why did I buy 6 eggs or what is my plan for them. I will start with why I got six. I walk into the petstore and see a couple of shark eggs that weren't bamboo. I asked how much the eggs were? The worker told me $25. I told him I will take 2 eggs. 2 eggs would of cost me $50. I asked if he can do a deal on 3 eggs. He told me he will sell me 3 eggs for $30. I said I will take 3. The worker kept telling me how small they are compaired to normal Eggs. I didn't say amything about them beimg a diffrent shark. Then he told me he got 6 eggs in. I asked how much for all 6 and he told me $50. I was kind of shocked that I was going to buy 2 for $50 and now I can get 6 for $50. I ended up getting the six of them.

As for what my plans are for them. I am going to let them develop a little more. Maybe I can find someone who has a breeding pair of something and trade eggs. If not I will try to sell them. If I sell them I won't even take money for it. I will just have the buyer make a donation to some shark conservation group or give it to some reef society or something to auction off. If I get one shark out of the deal I will be happy.

This is what worries me. One of the eggs got dented. Is this anything to worry about? I notice the yolk falls to the bottom of the egg. Is it possible for the fetus to get cruahed or sufficated?

I think the clip fell off the wall and crushed the egg. I did this to prevent it from happening again. I just need a few more zip ties for the rest of the eggs.

I had two female marbled cat sharks that laid unfertile egg cases, and yes there was a yolk like substance in some of them:). Raised both of them from around 10inches to 2feet in a 180.

I don't think its much to worry about but you can always just lay it flat and move the yolk towards the center again.

On another note, if and when they hatch, do you plan on keeping the damsel with them? They get pretty nasty

That's a good set up.

As for fertile vs not, I've never seen non fertile eggs with a yolk. I have however seen many fertilized eggs go bad. I think what you are seeing in the mentioned egg is just that. Damage to the yolk (or many other factors) can cause them to fowl. A yolk should be fairly stable in shape - a round or semi-round shape. Once it turns into a thick gel that settles to one side and takes the shape of the egg case, it's dead. I've had it happen with everything from bamboo sharks to zebra sharks. It's not fun, but it's part of the natural process. Most sharks lay multiple eggs b/c not all will make it to the point of hatching.
