i noticed its an old thread... i was wondering what the growth rate is. Im getting worried my guy wont grow fast enough for my other fish

same questions for me, its my first time keeping this fish, but mine is only about 2-3" now, just wandering what are you keeping yours with? is it possible to keep them with pleco?

They grow to 10" in a year. This is the only problematic fish that I cannot successfully kept in a comm tank. I had many of them with each of different personalties but all with negative side. My first one had a taste of eyez and scales. Second had a taste for lungfish meat and snakehead scales. Third one had a taste for arowana scales and fish fin. Till I gave up buying this BASTARD fish. My last one caused my 52" south american lungfish's death. I will never keep this fish anymore in a comm tank. They will always have a taste of something.
