size and growth rate of african brown knives...

Ive had my ABK for about a month now and hes about 5 or 6 inches.....I just wanted to know how big they get and if so does it happen quickly like other knives?

I'm not sure on the rate of growth, but they usually aren't seen past 8-9". Sometimes you'll get one a little larger, but not often.

mine is about 5 inches. ive had it for 2+ months and it doesn't seem to grow very much.

They average about 8" and seem to be slow growers.

So a 29 gallon should be ok for him for life? cause im needing a new tank for my oscar and pacu so they dont eat the ABk

In my personal opinion, I think that a 8" fish will be fine in a 29g. Some people will say 50g. They aren't too active so a 29g is fine.

I agree that an 8" unactive fish would be okay in a 29gallon tank. As long as he's happy with plants and driftwood and stuff he should be fine =)
