Size difference

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I put a 9" orino in w/ 21" orino's.
Like hayn said....all depends on the bass.
SOunds like you should be fine.
I would add all three one after another to help confuse the bigger one and help settle the little ones.

You're going to have some aggression and territorial spats with the introduction of new stock. I'd say wait til they are closer to the other fish's size (2/3rds or 3/4s the largest fish's length) and let them take their lumps the first few days. The aggression won't be as bad if they are closer to each other's size. Only half the length is toooooooo close to eatin' size.

Well the experiment was a fail. I tried to add all three and they each took some punishment. Removed them right away and they are back in my other grow out tank.

HOw long did you give them?
of course they are gonna get pushed around a bit...
Was he trying to eat them or just pushing them around?

They were not looking for food. Damn Orino just wanted to abuse them. Sadly one died from the beating. The other two are doing ok still really scared and hiding... LESSON LEARNED ORINOS ARE RUTHLESS......

My Venezuela Orino went into my 300 Gallon at 10" with 4 other bass all at least 14" and she has not only been fine, but picks fights with them! I think if that Orino was the 6" and another type was 10" you would have been fine.
